HOW CORONAVIRUS BEGAN TO SPREAD IN CHINA

Everyone in China is trying to stay safe including the doctors but the frustrated patients don't want to be the unlucky ones. A virus that causes fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. One can mistake for a flu. On the 11th of January 2020 a 61 year old man died, who had purchased goods from the seafood market. On the 17th of January, the second death was reported in Wuhan, after which the health authorities in United States announced that three airports would start screening passengers arriving from the city. Then, On the 20th of January, China reported a third death and more than 200 infections. Meanwhile, a Chinese expert on infectious disease confirmed human to human transmission and raising fears of a major outbreak as millions travelled for the lunar New year holiday. While the Asians where finding measures to block the spread of the virus. On the 22nd of January, 17 people died with more than 550 infections. Day by day more people died and the infection kept on spreading. On the 7th of February, Li Wenliang, a doctor who was among the first to sound the alarm over the coronavirus, died and Hong Kong introduced prison sentences for anyone breaching quarantine rules.
On February 5, 2020, the website AB-TC (aka City News) published an article that claimed China seeks for Court's approval to kill the over 20,000 coronavirus patient to avoid further spread of the virus.  According to WHO, this virus can be prevented by : Avoiding close contact with people who are sick, wash your hands frequently with soap and water, making sure to scrub for at least 20 seconds, Avoid touching the eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands. However wearing a mask isn't particularly helpful according to Eric Toner a senior Scientist at Johns Hopkins University but it does not seem like one has an option, steer clear of markets that sell live animals, make sure your meat is cooked well before eating and lastly animals like bats, potentially pigs or civets should be avoided.

The Twists in the middle of these Corona stories

The good thing about it it that I have gone to market, so I don’t have to worry for sometime about what to eat because the new rule now is that one is not allowed to leave the cité for more than 30 minutes, if so you will be tested before you can come into the cité. That was the voice I was hearing in my dream only to wake up and realize it was not a dream. It was the voice of my roommate telling her parents about the current situation and that was the news we received in the afternoon from The director through Grace after two students from Cape-cost Ghana were taken to the hospital or one can call it a confinement house.      Some still believe that they won’t get it and on the other hand we were coming up with different propaganda against the nurse. What if she has it ? What if she mistakes flu or malaria for Coronavirus ? What if she’s the primary source for us getting it ? This situation has instilled more fear in everyone. The plan now is that no matter anything ...

This sent waves of fear to every student leaving in the cité even thou the news could be false but it spread like a wild fire everywhere.      Here we are thinking this virus was not close by but we forgot that the center of Lomé is Université du Lomé. Village du Benin which is located few steps by the left through the school main gate is a language school that is run by the government.       My upper lips was burning from the goat meat suya i was eating, someone on the other hand asking what we were told in the Coronavirus orientation. Of course some of the students didn’t come for the orientation because we thought Lomé as Nigeria; where we can stay with our family with peace of mind. And with the notion that it is far away from us, but things change when we realized that we are in the heart of Togo, we became  extremely careful.       To...
