Happy Women's day (Little Women)

Innocent souls but dirty minds I would call us. Feasting on our curiosity as young adolescent girls; made us talkers, thinkers and not doers, We grew our curious mind with dictionary at first; searching for sex related words and putting it down in a fresh 20 leaves paper and keeping it safe till the day we need to discuss about them so as to prove that we are not naïve. The American and British books that were printed in a brown paper; these books we took turns to read. Salvaging the little left from the movies we stream. To us we knew it all; every single thing about it. One time, I spent hours trying to figure out where a hole can be found in a female body apart from the anus, I never actually understood the diagram of the vagina. Back then in the classrooms, we read newspapers, dictionaries, brown novels and we discuss movies whenever we have free periods, all these to keeps our curious minds in checks. Some of those movies that were narrated by my friends still lives rent free in my head like “Fifty shades of Grey” well narrated and organized by my friend; I will never forget that narration. The two books I have in my head “Mine to Take” and “Rapture” these books never found its owners till we left school.

We grew together, we made mistakes, we cried, we loved; we made the best choices and the wrong ones sometimes. We became LITTLE WOMEN. We molded our minds in the absence of the world. We never gave up and we lived passed the hunger strikes, the terrifying officers, the red and white uniform with the jigida belt, the constant voice of the sister principal reminding us of the world we are about to meet. I wonder what type of problem y’all are trying to tackle now; money problems? Relationship problems? or some other things I can’t guess. I miss the days of our unbothered minds.

To We, THE LITTLE WOMEN may we become achievers, happy and successful people in life. Amen

HAPPY WOMEN’S DAY TO US, TO EVERY WOMAN ALL OVER THE WORLD

WE ARE MEANT FOR GREATNESS

Ambitions

Almost everyone dreams of something while growing up. We all have ambitions when we are little, which change as we grow up. Ambitions lead us to a definite aim in life. Furthermore, they help us focus on our goal no matter the cost. It drives us to do better in life and aim for the Stars . Ambitions differ from one person to another.    However, one common thing that we usually face is that over time, people switch their ambition to something else than that which they wished to be when they are little. We have many people in the medical field who wanted to be dancers. Similarly, some of the greatest politicians wanted to be artists. So we see how easily one gives up on their dreams to adapt to the society and to meet up to our reality By Josué ✍🏽

Everyday Corona stories

Patrice ! Ade is sick o ! He’s having cough. Are you serious! replied another voice. Ade ! don’t touch me ! I said don’t touch me pls ! The sound mixed with fear and anger could not let me concentrate on writing the essay I needed for my summer internship.      On the morning of that same day, the 20th of March 2020, we were mandated to attend  the orientation of Coronavirus organized by village du Benin Togo. And also one must wash his hands with the provided soap and water in the school compound  before you can be allowed in class. The orientation was held in the hall with not more than 100 students per barge. The first barge ended with the installation of fear and extra carefulness in us and we washed our hands according to what we were taught in the hall by the school nurse before we left the school environment.       I was still on the summer internship application when news was brought to us that school has shutdown till further notice...

It's either from the preachers or the students struggling for water or the prayers from the mosque ,  all these has become part of being a being a UNN student. scarcity of water, lack  of provision of light, lack of healthy classrooms and environment. Studying in University of Nigeria Nsuuka should be a privilege but I don't know if I'm allowed to say otherwise                                       On  30th August 2019, I woke up with a splitting headache and the sharp noise of students searching for where to fetch water. that was when I realised that I will soon join the queue because I had ...
